Pacific Northwest Trip: Day 3

To get downtown we walked along the Willamette River and then caught the Tri-Met Street Car to the downtown core - $1.75 for adults, $0.85 for seniors. It's a great system and one that Vancouver, BC should definitely consider as apparently it's phenomenally less expensive.




Here's the lower base station for the Portland Aerial Tram. It's a gondola that takes people from the waterfront up the large hill to the OHSU Medical Center. There has been much controversy with this system because of the excessive cost. Here's a video (sadly not by me) of the ride.


Arriving downtown, we came upon this interesting statue near Chinatown.
Somehow this 24 Hour Church of Elvis seems quite appropriate for Portland!
