Do Facts Matter?
Thomas Sowell thinks they do. This is a must read for every American voter.

Sowell's last sentence: "But the country does not deserve to be put in the hands of a glib and cocky know-it-all, who has accomplished absolutely nothing beyond the advancement of his own career with rhetoric, and who has for years allied himself with a succession of people who have openly expressed their hatred of America." Gendered pronouns aside, this describes Sarah Palin better than it describes any of the other candidates.
John, I'll let Thomas Sowell stand up for himself. But the question must be asked, do you feel this way just toward Sarah Palin or toward all Christian women?
If someone else were saying similar things, as you have, toward and about the beliefs of an Orthodox Jewish woman, how would you feel about it?
Please think about it.
Sarah Palin has allied herself with people with a hatred of America? That's news to me. Did you get that from DailyKos?
Truth be told, all of the four on either tickets has accomplished absolutely nothing productive at all outside of the public sector and/or holding public office...aka
the advancement of his/her own career with rhetoric.
Dear Anonymous:
Interesting point! Though not at all true when it comes to Sarah Palin, is it?
A quick search reveals this: http://www.biography.com/featured-biography/sarah-palin
- Television sports reporter, 1987-89
– Co-owner, commercial fishing operation, 1988-2007
– Owner, snow machine, watercraft, and all-terrain vehicle business, 1994-97
As someone who has worked for others in the private sector and worked for myself in the same, I admire anyone who ventures down the entrepreneurial route.
Such a path is often pooh-poohed by those who have never done the same or labeled as "the blissful path" by the same. As if! I'd love for them to give it a try and realize that it isn't remotely as simple as they envisage.
McCain and Biden do have reasonably good legislative accomplishments, one cannot deny this no matter what side you are on. Palin has both public and private sector experience and is accomplished in both areas, and still has a lot ahead of her. Obama, well, he did get everyone to agree it was a good idea not to let nukes fall in the hands of terrorists. That must have required salesmanship the likes of which any auto dealership would die for.
MD: Palin has given video greetings to the Alaska Independence Party, and her husband was a member for years. The AIP (sort of) supports secession, and its founder has a great quote about how he hates the United States and its flag.
Robert: What did anything I said have to do with Palin's religious beliefs?

Oh come on, John, this is old, old news and has since been long disproven as being a scandal or smoking gun. Yet you're still focusing on it?
People mistakenly thought Palin herself was an AIP member. Apparently she was not. But she did deliver a video greeting to their convention, their leaders hate America, and Todd Palin was a member.
One word, John: "Stretttttttttttcccccccccchhhhhhhhh"
