The VW Thing

Aka the Volkswagen 181, this jeep-like vehicle came into Canada and the U.S. in the early 1970's. I was quite familiar with them because my Dad so Volkswagens for a time and I got to ride in a few. I saw one today on Granville Street in Vancouver and captured these photos:
