I would add that Dion announced his intention to resign as party leader, which would mean he would only be PM for about 5 months. He hasn't announced any change in his plans, most likely to mollify Ignatieff and Rae, but on the face of it, this is an inherently unstable coalition.
For what it is worth here is the text of an email I sent to the Governor General:
1 December 2008
Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaƫlle Jean
Governor General of Canada
Rideau Hall
1 Sussex Drive
Ottawa, Ontario
K1A 0A1
Excellency:
I am writing to ask that if the Government falls you dissolve parliament and send Canadians to the polls. Please do not allow the coalition that is supported by the seditionists of the Bloc Quebecois to have a say in how our country is run unless that coalition first faces Canadians at the polls. I ask you to think of the men and women of our Armed Forces who serve under you, and have lately made so many sacrifices for you. To give our country over to those that wish to destroy it would be an affront to those who serve Canada and have sworn an oath of allegiance to you.
Sincerely,
I copied my MP, The PM, leaders of the 3 opposition parties, and the Queen.
