Historical Museum of Southern Florida - Part 1

I'd long been wanting to visit this museum and finally did today.

It's not huge, with only two small floors, but they have a lot packed into that space. Currently on the main floor is a special exhibit about Port Royal, Jamaica. In the 1600's this community was the center of shipping commerce in the Caribbean. It's nickname was "The Wicked City" because of its great extravagance and questionable morality. All of this abruptly came to an end on June 7th, 1692 when a massive earthquake took two-thirds of the city under water!

Located just a short distance from Kingston, Port Royal is a place I'd never heard of before but would very much like to visit now. Only a small part of the submerged city has been uncovered and I think it would be fascinating to scuba dive down there!
