Relationship Math
Good relationships are about addition.
Great relationships are about multiplication.
Bad relationships are about subtraction.
Sadly, there seems to be way too much of the latter going on these days.

I've told my kids, relationships are like bank accounts, you can make deposits and withdrawals, if you take too much out, you go into overdraft and, well, the bank doesn't let you do that, as we know, unless you have good credit.... you can't just take and not give. We live in a very selfish age.
There's great wisdom in what you've told your kids, M. Isn't it interesting and coincidental that these days, when so many young people are in great personal debt, that the longevity of relationships has great diminished.
Prior to your comment I had never made the connection before. Thank you for sharing.
