Proof Positive of the Idiocy of Multiculturalism

Out of Toronto comes a story about a Muslim man filing a formal complaint because another man said "Good morning" to the Muslim man's wife in their shared apartment building hallway.

A dirty little secret amongst Canadians is that Toronto has been lost to the dumbest, most politically correct policies ever conceived in this country.

Incidentally, for those not aware, there is a HUGE difference between the terms "multicultural" and "multiple cultures". The latter is more commonly associated with the "melting pot" concept where people from all over the world harmoniously blend together under one new nation, under one flag, providing a delightful blend of cuisine, art, music, relationships, etc.

But make no mistake, that is NOT what "multicultural" means. It refers to the belief that all cultures & customs are precisely equal and any questioning of any other culture makes you a bigoted racist.

Toronto has been pushing multiculturalism to the extreme for decades and that is why we end up with situations like in this story.

The Tamil Protest in Toronto: What is Michael Ignatieff Up To?

In case you haven't yet heard, thousands of Tamil protesters shut down the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto. They were there to coerce the Canadian government into following their demands.

Most Canadians do not know enough about the situation in Sri Lanka to have any idea whether their cause is just or not. However, their tactics are deplorable. Are we now going to be getting every single expat group under the sun shutting down major traffic arteries across Canada in order to change Canadian foreign policy?

Prime Minister Stephen Harper wasn't prepared to be held hostage politically by these protesters but Michael Ignatieff, sensing a political opportunity, has apparently caved into their demands.

SDA regular 'ET' shares her thoughts:

The latest news - is that Ignatieff has moved in for the Vote.

He's contacted these Tamils, who have attacked our police, and have held the public hostage by taking over a major highway- well, Ignatieff has supported their violation of the Rule of Law and their behaviour within the Rule of Force.

He's told them that HE will bring up, to his caucus, tomorrow, the issue of asking the govt to impose sanctions on Sri Lanka.

Ahh, Ignatieff. Think what he has done. The Tamils have violated our laws; they have taken Toronto commuters hostage; they have made unreasonable demands - that they will use their Rule of Force to make the govt do what THEY want to a foreign country.

So, Ignatieff moves in for 'the kill'. Just like the Tamils, he's violating the Rule of Law. He's after their vote. He says HE accepts their agenda; HE accepts that sanctions against Sri Lanka should be put in place.

And, when Harper disagrees, as he probably will, well - Ignatieff gets the Tamil Vote!!!

Ahh, the Liberals. Trust them to cheat, lie, manipulate and use people. For their own agenda. Power. Just personal power.

So, we have the Tamils using Power to achieve their agenda of making our govt do what THEY want, not what our gov't wants. And we have Ignatieff using Power to achieve..votes..for power.
Disgusting.

Update: The power of the Internet over traditional media proves itself once again. Someone has created a brand new blog to showcase a succession of photos which clearly ilustrates how the Tamil protesters broke through police lines and up onto the Gardiner Expressway.

Lest we forget, Michael Ignatieff CAVED INTO the THUGS at the front of this group who appear to have attacked brave but clearly helplessly outnumbered police officers. Not a leader, just an Appeaser!

Ruby, You've Got Some 'Splainin To Do

Some damning documents have been published by the Toronto Star concerning MP Ruby Dhalla's alleged payments to two Filipino nannies.

Based on the receipts containd therein, let do some math:

$250.00 - Payment per week

$6.25 - Hourly rate if the nanny worked 40 hrs/wk
$4.17 - Hourly rate if the nanny worked 60 hrs/wk
$3.13 - Hourly rate if the nanny worked 80 hrs/wk

Priceless - The spin that Ruby Dhalla and the Liberal Party of Canada will attempt trying to explain this!

Incidentally, this puff piece resonates quite differently now, doesn't it?!

Pro-Terrorism Rally in Toronto

Free Speech is a great thing and should always be promoted. But given the right of free speech doesn't guarantee that the speaker will utter anything remotely intelligent.

Here are some observations:

  • Clearly non-Jewish protesters posing as Jews
  • The Che Guevera flags (do they even know a thing about what he actually did?)
  • Multiple supporters screaming with glee about how Israel would be wiped off the map
  • Any attempt at peaceful dialogue by the protesters was clamped down upon by the "organizers"
  • The frenzied screaming of "Allah Akbar" such as we see in incensed mobs in Pakistan and other Muslim countries
  • Were the formally printed signs made by the same people who wanted to recently overthrow our democratically elected government with The Coalition?

A Good Reason for Ontario Men to Become Celibate

There's an interesting story coming out of Toronto where a man must continue paying child support to his ex-wife even though DNA has proved that he is not the father of her 16 year-old twins. More here.

Dave Rutherford discusses the issue at length here (starting at 34:00).

Disgrace in Toronto

Free Speech indeed should be paramount in Canada. But given the ability to say anything, some people choose to disgrace themselves:

In the above Toronto terrorist video, when the peace-loving thugs shout:

"You are the product of monkeys, you are the product of pigs!,"

they are referring to the passages in the Qur'an in which Allah curses Jews and transforms them into apes and pigs (2:62-65; 5:59-60; 7:166).

But, the ET's of the world would have you believe it's all about the economy, not about, you know, the Islamic ideology. And all the little dears need is democracy to make it all go away.

Meanwhile, they're in our livingroom, enjoying democracy, a country with a middle class, and an economy.

Canadian "Human Rights" Watch

There's a crazy story out of wacky Toronto with this headline:

Gay aboriginal fired from Gerstein Centre
Says he lost job for saying immigrants more privileged than natives

Here's the start of the story:

A gay aboriginal man says he was fired from his job after being accused of racism. Stanford Sinclair says he was fired from his part-time job at the Gerstein Centre — a Toronto mental health crisis centre — after an Oct 6 conversation with several fellow employees.

"There was a discussion," says Sinclair. "We're all social worker, activist types. I'm queer and First Nations. A call came in from a queer guy from Morocco.

"We got into this big discussion about immigration. The one thing I did say was immigrants had more privileges than First Nations."

Mr. Sinclair now plans to take his case to the Ontario "Human Rights" Commission. I can think of no one better to handle this case. And I say that with absolutely no respect.

I'm part of a discussion here, trying to help figure out who has the most "victim" points and thus should win. This all makes one wonder how we possibly got by as a nation before HRCs were here to set things straight. :-)

Who Will Jennifer Burke Now Cheer For?

Now that Brian Burke is the new head of the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team (aka "Commander of the Center of the Universe") it'll be interesting to hear who his pretty wife, Jennifer Burke [nee Mather], will be cheering for. Will her old allegiances to the Vancouver Canucks become yesterday's news?

She very much is one of Vancouver's favourite daughters, having grown up much of her life here. She had an illustrious career on TV and radio before taking a break from it all to raise a family.

I hope that her old colleagues in the Sports Department at CKNW [playfully] get a chance to give her the 3rd Degree questioning about this!

And now that she's back in Canada, let's hope that the local media in Toronto don't place her home province mistakenly in South America like those in Southern California did!

The Law Students are backing down against Steyn ... sort of

The gang of four Osgoode Hall Law students is backing down temporarily from posting their obnoxious, anti-free speech views at their Law Is Cool blog. Like any bully, they're spinning a bunch of excuses for doing so, but are still smugly looking forward to the conviction of Maclean's by the 3 Human Wrongs Commissions.

I don't know if they'll ever post it, but I submitted this comment to their post:

Some day in the future I hope that all members of your little "legal gang" realize how pathetically hypocritical you all are. In the same piece that you criticize Mark Steyn (and anyone else who supports his right to free speech) you also have the gall to smugly say, "... we’re sure there will be some bench in the future weighing in on that issue eventually."

One has to wonder what you mean by this statement. In a strict legal sense, you are, of course, just stating that you await the outcome from the powers at be. But don't disrespect the intelligence of Canadians. Any reasonable person would add some variation of the following phrase to the end of it: ""... we’re sure there will be some bench in the future weighing in on that issue eventually [... and convicting Mark Steyn. Then we'll see who has the last laugh!"]

In Vancouver a court case has just been lost by two plaintiffs trying to win control of the Canucks hockey team. The defendants now plan to sue the plaintiffs for all their legal costs, which are reportedly $25 Million. If you're so convinced that Maclean's and Mark Steyn are guilty, why don't you sue them in a REAL court? We know the real reason, don't we?!
