The Tamil Protest in Toronto: What is Michael Ignatieff Up To?

In case you haven't yet heard, thousands of Tamil protesters shut down the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto. They were there to coerce the Canadian government into following their demands.

Most Canadians do not know enough about the situation in Sri Lanka to have any idea whether their cause is just or not. However, their tactics are deplorable. Are we now going to be getting every single expat group under the sun shutting down major traffic arteries across Canada in order to change Canadian foreign policy?

Prime Minister Stephen Harper wasn't prepared to be held hostage politically by these protesters but Michael Ignatieff, sensing a political opportunity, has apparently caved into their demands.

The latest news - is that Ignatieff has moved in for the Vote.

He's contacted these Tamils, who have attacked our police, and have held the public hostage by taking over a major highway- well, Ignatieff has supported their violation of the Rule of Law and their behaviour within the Rule of Force.

He's told them that HE will bring up, to his caucus, tomorrow, the issue of asking the govt to impose sanctions on Sri Lanka.

Ahh, Ignatieff. Think what he has done. The Tamils have violated our laws; they have taken Toronto commuters hostage; they have made unreasonable demands - that they will use their Rule of Force to make the govt do what THEY want to a foreign country.

So, Ignatieff moves in for 'the kill'. Just like the Tamils, he's violating the Rule of Law. He's after their vote. He says HE accepts their agenda; HE accepts that sanctions against Sri Lanka should be put in place.

And, when Harper disagrees, as he probably will, well - Ignatieff gets the Tamil Vote!!!

Ahh, the Liberals. Trust them to cheat, lie, manipulate and use people. For their own agenda. Power. Just personal power.

So, we have the Tamils using Power to achieve their agenda of making our govt do what THEY want, not what our gov't wants. And we have Ignatieff using Power to achieve..votes..for power.
Disgusting.

Update: The power of the Internet over traditional media proves itself once again. Someone has created a brand new blog to showcase a succession of photos which clearly ilustrates how the Tamil protesters broke through police lines and up onto the Gardiner Expressway.

Lest we forget, Michael Ignatieff CAVED INTO the THUGS at the front of this group who appear to have attacked brave but clearly helplessly outnumbered police officers. Not a leader, just an Appeaser!

There you will hear Michael Ignatieff say: "Mr. Harper, you don't understand Canada!" This coming from a man who has spent most of his adult life in the U.S. and who married a woman from Hungary. I don't hold either of these things against him but what INCREDIBLE ARROGANCE to make such a statement!!!

Incidentally, the reason it got such a thundering applause is because it's emblematic of the attitude of Liberal elites, which in essence is this: "We are Liberals, we are the chosen ones, we know more than the rest of you about everything! And if you DARE to hold other political views then we will ridicule you and crush you. For this country is ours to shape as we think best, for we are the enlightened ones!"

This past evening in Vancouver, young Liberal party members presented Michael Ignatieff with this hockey jersey:

There's speculation going around the city that this CURSED the Canucks, causing them to lose 6 - 3 to Chicago. It would be most interesting to find out precisely when this jersey was given to him. Why do I have a sneaking suspicion that it was a little after the Canucks had a 2-0 lead?

Dear Iggy, we understand that you have a much greater affiliation with Chicago. Please just show us some respect and stay out of our city until the Stanley Cup playoffs are over. Thank you.

An Accurate Take on Canada's Corrupt Media

From a brilliant woman in Ontario:

I think it is clear that our biased MSM is hostile to Harper, for no reason other than that he is not a Liberal and the majority of the MSM all assume that the Liberal Party, regardless of its policies/no policies is the 'Natural Governing Party'.

This MSM ignores the Liberal corruption, ignores Adscam, ignores the stacking of the Senate with their cronies, ignores the patronage and cronyism of that Liberal Party in Ottawa - they are all part of this same 'gang'. Their anger against Harper is simply because he is there.

The fact that he is highly competent is something that they won't even refer to; it is totally and utterly ignored by our MSM.

Their juvenile adoration of Obama - and I simply fail to understand WHY - shows up when someone like Tom Clark gushes on CTV that Obama said 'he loves Canada'..isn't that great'!! Doesn't the idiot think that such a statement is not merely meaningless but only political? After all, how could anyone make such a statement about a country or person or whatever...when they have never, ever, visited the country before? Never set foot in it?

Oh, and Obama 'touched' Harper - that shows his friendship. When Bush did that, it showed his dominance over Harper.

The bias, the juvenile gushing of our MSM over Obama is shameful. And the insistent sneers at Harper - shameful. Meanwhile, the MSM is constantly, endlessly, promoting Ignatieff.

One article, if you can believe it, assures us that Obama and Ignatieff talked about mutual cafes they went to at Harvard, and tells us that both Obama and Ignatieff are 'intellects', deep thinkers...ignoring that Obama's two books are only autobiographies and most certainly not analytical or deep thoughts.

Other articles point out that Harper 'basked in Obama's light'...disgusting.

That's our MSM. By the way, does the MSM remember that Ignatieff signed the coalition agreement - the most vicious attack on our democratic rights in the history of this country?

The Split in the Liberal Party of Canada: Adults vs. Children

Jonathan Kay has written a stunning piece in the National Post about the big divide in the Liberal Party. His use of the terms "adults" and "children" might just seem like mere metaphors but there's actually a lot of truth to their place in his article.

Children come in many forms and we all know many adults who still act like children. Adults are responsible, both morally and fiscally. Children often are not. Adults think through their views and their promises; not just the initial effect, but the longterm effect as well. Children rarely do. Adults have wisdom. Children do not.

As Kay says, the children of the Liberal Party can now move over to the NDP, where they will feel right at home with like-minded irresponsible comrades.

Michael Ignatieff vs. "ET"

Michael Ignatieff has just written an editorial, published by the National Post.

A regular commenter on SDA, who goes by the nickname of "ET", wrote a rebuttal:

There's an essay by Ignatieff in the National Post today. Quite incredible. It outlines clearly his view of himself, Canada, the world. It's not a constructive but a disturbing presentation.

He is moving into the traditional Liberal reductionist strategy of 'let's all feel good, get along together and love each other'. By this I mean that the Liberal strategy has been to minimize and isolate dissent, questions, debate, analysis. Instead of this hard rational interaction which involves us all in the future of our country, the Liberal strategy has been to reject dissent and debate, and therefore the exercise of reason..and move us into living only on the emotional level. And only one emotion - that of acceptance of anything. No questions. No dissent.

Notice how when we have questioned the role of the Bloc in the Coalition, we have been chastized for 'bashing Quebec' rather than criticizing the role of an isolate regional party in decision-making.

Then, Ignatieff moves into the second part of this mantra is the off-repeated nonsense that 'Canada is the best in the world, and the most tolerant and the most...etc". Again, such reductionist claims rejects our right to self-examine ourselves, to question ourselves, to dissent, debate and participate in our future.

Since we are 'the best', and we are 'tolerant', this means that we are NOT ALLOWED TO DOUBT. Such a repression of doubt is actually a key strategy of all Sovereignist Rule.

The Liberal rhetoric doesn't deal with reality. It operates only within the realm of fiction, a fictional account of ourselves and others created by our Sovereign, by our Ruling Party, to calm and soothe us into submission to its rules.

This declared tolerance ignores reality, it rejects the reality that Canada rejects freedom of speech.

The reality that Canada has set up a balkanized immigration framework - one which the Conservatives are working to undo - is ignored. The Liberals set up immigrants into isolate groups, told them to 'stay as you were in the old country', discouraged integration, discouraged collaboration, and thus kept them economically isolated.. and funded them for this narrowness of perspective. In return for their votes. The Conservatives are working to encourage integration, collaboration across cultures, shared future agendas.

Bilingualism set up a framework of power, which, because it is fiction rather than reality, moved this governmental power into the bubble isolation of cabals in Montreal-Ottawa.

Ignatieff's rhetoric promotes what he calls a 'stable government' over differences - and tell us that all that is needed to manage 'all problems' is a stable government. What the heck does that mean? Dictatorships provide stable government; that's their basic nature.

Notice that Ignatieff is betraying that his ideology fits right in with the Old Liberal Modus Operandi - that of the Sovereign Ruler, he who rules over the multitude and masses by divine right, he who makes the decisions for them and rejects their right to 'doubt', to question, to do anything other than 'accept'. Power to the Ruler rather than Power of, by, for, the People.

Then, Ignatieff says of Canada, that: "Our vocation in the world is to help other countries deepen and develop their citizenship as we have deepened and developed our own."

Incredible, the pompous vanity, the arrogant self-congratulatory assertion of supremacy and the idea that such perfection, superior as it is to that of other peoples, means that we must Guide and Rule and Teach the less-perfect in the world. All this arrogance - in one sentence.

So, it's clear that Ignatieff is setting himself up as a Sovereign. Many Canadians feel comfortable with this infrastructure - that reliance on government rather than the self. This has been the ideology since colonization. But I maintain that the new Canada isn't as simple and passive as the Old Canada and won't support being moved back into the realm of the hapless ruled.

Conrad Black's Musings on the Canadian Political Scene

Though he's away on "vacation" in Florida, Conrad Black clearly is still closely following what's going on here in Canada. While some despise him, no one can dispute his immense historical knowledge.

In his piece he closely examines Michael Ignatieff and compares & contrasts him with Stephen Harper. Whatever the outcome of the next few elections, all Canadians can rejoice at the fact that the Radical Left elements of the Liberal Party of Canada have been pushed aside, and not a minute too soon IMHO. The good news for Jack Layton and Gilles Duceppe is that there'll be much more room in the bed for just the two of them!

Yet that's precisely the track record of Michael Ignatieff, the newly anointed leader of the Liberal Party of Canada. Yet we don't hear a peep about it.


Note: For the record, it doesn't bother me one whit that Ignatieff spent all those decades at Harvard.

Beware: The Coalition is NOT Dead

The Liberal Party's PR surrogates - aka "the mainstream media" have made it very clear that the Coalition isn't dead. It's just lying in wait to bring down the "evil tyrant" Stephen Harper at the earliest opportunity.

Here's a fascinating discussion with the Globe and Mail's Gloria Galloway (starting at 7:00). Ms. Galloway has a long history of contempt for Stephen Harper in particular and conservative-minded Canadians in general. While she's carefully holding back her venom at this time, this glowing article by her about Michael Ignatieff is a clear sign of what heavy bias we'll be seeing in the media in 2009.

Incidentally, by my count it has now been 2 days since Ignatieff has been the head of the dreaded Coalition, which came very close to taking away the democracy of Canadians. Some Liberal pundits are saying that he was the least supportive of it. If that's true then why has he not spoken out against it as of yet?!
