Modern-Day Eggheads' Distaste for Facts

Here's a fascinating conversation on the effectiveness of torture and delusions about 9/11, beginning at 7:00. Well worth listening to!

Charles Adler Covers Rubygate

Listen here - Move the slider to 7:00 once the window loads. The entire hour is devoted to Ruby Dhalla. If the allegations are proven true then she may be facing criminal charges which would see her facing a jail term of up to 2 years.

In general terms, it's fascinating to watch the ABSOLUTE HYPOCRISY of so-called "progressives"!!!

Vapid Journalists & Reporters

Parts of Saskatoon are quickly devolving in precisely the same manner as Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Why? Because they're following precisely the same misguided drug policies as Vancouver adopted long before.

Here (beginning at 7:00) is a brilliant discussion between Charles Adler and John Gormley.

When asked how the media could have been so fooled away from any semblance of common sense, Gormley responded (@ 12:50) : "You've got intellectually vapid journalists and reporters." Without realizing it, he was including two of CKNW's "finest": Bill Good and Christy Clark - both of whom have been longtime supporters of Vancouver's failed drug policy.

Tammy Robert, who works with Gormley at CKOM in Saskatoon, has numerous photos on her blog. Well worth checking out!

Out here in Vancouver, one of the few voices of sanity has been David Berner:

The Less Than Subtle Prejudices of the Left

Today, Charles Adler featured a long segment on some recent whiny callers from Alberta who shared the common distinction of hating everything and everyone in Alberta. You can listen to it here (7:00). Such snobs who look down upon people who [apparently] have less education than them annoy & anger me to no end. After listening to the show, I felt compelled to send Adler this letter:

Charles,

Thank you for following up on the calls from the two Albertans who hate everything about Alberta. Listening to them again I was reminded of numerous conversations I've had over the years with such left of centre folks. Such discussions always start out pleasant enough but eventually arrive at some point of contention. Rather than just agreeing to disagree, quite often the Academic Card is pulled out by these individuals, citing what degrees they have, what schools they went to, and thus making it "so obvious" that they know more than I do.

Such people frequently have an undergraduate degree in History or English or Philosophy and are lawyers or teachers or baristas. Yet miraculously their education and "high intelligence" has made them experts at:

  • Economics (ex. Obama's stimulus bill is brilliant)
  • Environmental Modeling (ex. Al Gore knows more about the environment than even God)
  • Structural Engineering Design (ex. 9/11 was 'obviously' carried out by Bush & Cheney)
  • Carbon Sequestration (ex. It's so easy to do but those damn oil companies are too greedy)
  • Canadian Constitutional Law (ex. It's 'so obvious' that The Coalition is a normal part of our country's electoral history)
  • The Middle East (ex. Israel is no different than Nazi Germany and Canadian & American soldiers in Afghanistan are no different than Al Qaeda)
  • Demographics (ex. Canada is so overcrowded that anyone having a baby is damaging Mother Earth)
And on & on it goes.

They have convinced themselves that all academics (only of the left-leaning kind, of course) are the most brilliant citizens of the world who we must listen to or face certain peril within just a few years. In their minds, Barack Obama must be a genius because he went to Harvard, Stephane Dion is brilliant but just misunderstood, and Michael Ignatieff represents intelligentsia without compare. When asked how Stephen Harper ranks amongst this crowd, they sidestep it by referring to him as an "Evil Genius".

In their everyday lives they treat anyone without a post-secondary education with disdain. This includes waitresses, shop clerks, cleaning staff, farmers, construction workers, plumbers, etc. In the old days they'd refer to such people as being from the wrong side of the tracks. Nowadays the PC terms include "The NASCAR Crowd" and "Monster Truck Fans". It's the same prejudice though, just disguised in a less forthright package.

They have rebuilt a Class System alright. But what these faux academic snobs don't realize is that they belong to a Class System of the Clueless.

Prime Example of CBC Trying to Reshape the News

Remember Eric Millett, the Radical Leftie elementary school principal who decided to silence the daily singing of Canada's national anthem at his school? He claims that one parent told him that she didn't want her child singing Canada's national anthem "for religious reasons". Whether or not this is true has yet to be determined.

Parents at the school and many Canadians in general are outraged at this for a simple reason: Assuming Mr. Millett is being truthful about what one parent said to him, it is yet another example of special accommodations being made for one child in the entire school, at the expense of ALL the other children. And in this case these accommodations mean silencing our country's national anthem. Who could possibly defend that?

But of course, the age old crusader of oppressed minorities, the high & mighty CBC!!! Watch this video.

Mr. Millett makes some pretty serious claims:

  • Parents have threatened to beat him up.
  • Anonymous death threats have been received via e-mail.
  • Threats against him have been made via his home phone.
Let me say unequivocally that if anyone has threatened him then they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Interesting that the RCMP has been investigating Millett's claims and heretofore have not laid a single charge.

What's more interesting is how the CBC, both in their on-camera interview and on their website, never use the word "allegedly". In fact, the headline on their website reads, "N.B. school principal received death threats in anthem dispute". That's a pretty bold claim. Do they have corrobating evidence to support this statement? If so, it's certainly not cited in the news story.

This is yet another example of the shoddy journalistic practices of Canada's public broadcaster. As I explained recently, I've given up on complaining to them because their entire complaint process is phoney, fake, a sham. But if a future federal government ever pulls all of their funding, I will not be shedding a tear.

Charles Adler has much more on this story here (7:00). It's well worth a listen to learn of a prime example of how your tax dollars are being wasted by Susan Ormiston & co.

Update: Adler featured another hour of the CBC hit piece against rural and conservative Canadians, which you can listen to here (7:00).

MSM Corruption, Newly Anointed Ignatieff

Charles Adler was on fire today!

Click here and move the slider to 7:00.

Here's one great thread: "But in the main the so-called national press gallery hate Harper and they just can't get over it. They hate him to the point where they omit the fact that most people in this country are not for coalition governments. And they just go on and tell us that this does go on in Belgium. WHO CARES?!? THIS AIN'T BELGIUM!!!"

Absolute Bliss!!

Charles Adler & Lorrie Goldstein Discuss the Coalition's Demise

Here's a great discussion about Bob Rae's hypocrisy and the Coalition's demise beginning at 34:00.

The Radical Elites of Toronto

Jonathan Kay offers up an hilarious column exposing U of T elites as the absolute phony, undemocratic thugs that they truly are. Here's one side-splitting snippet:

White, middle-aged, dour, earnest liberal academics are quite outraged that Canadians may still wish to be governed by the government they voted for and will stop at nothing to use their influence to install the coalition of the rejected and bring down the Harper government.

Here is the group photo of elites involved in the recent debate that Kay describes. They may all seem like innocent bureaucrats but each & every one of them is fully prepared to throw away your democracy & mine faster than you can say "Prime Minister Stephane Dion"!

After reading Kay's piece, one cannot help but reflect upon Charles Adler's recent editorial about those "tenured professors". They're one & the same!

Those "Unbiased" University Professors

Apparently I'm not the only one who has noticed the complete B.S. that the media are trying to shove down our throats these days. Charles Adler hits the ball out of the park with his editorial today. You can listen to him reading it at 34:00 here. Please, please do! Here's are a few snippets:

I expect the Governor General to continue to take her prime counsel from the Prime Minister as opposed to the growing gaggle of opportunists, unionists, and academics who want to conquer the National treasury and bankrupt it.

It's hard for us to believe that people in this country will surrender everything we own to TENURED university professors. Why am I saying this? Because the TV airwaves in this country are populated by University Professors who claim not to be political but make it abundantly obvious that they hate conservatives so much that they are willing to clear their throats and hold their noses and rubber stamp this Coalition of the Three Amigos, the Three Jokers, The Three Stooges of Coupscam.

In the meantime, it is up to the rest of us to make sure that if there is a change of government in this land it happens because we voted for it. We don't live in Waziristan. This is Canada, the True North, Strong, and FREE. And we should feel free to express our desire to have our democracy nurtured by the will of the people. Not tortured by the Three Stooges of Coupscam.

Here's one interesting tidbit: In a recent poll, Canadians were asked who is the best party to manage the economy. The results:

  • 34% Conservatives
  • 14% Liberals
  • 7% NDP
Yet all we keep on hearing is that "Canadians have lost confidence in the Conservative government to get us through these tough economic times." It's called Liberal Math.

The Three 2010 Olympic Mascots

Meet Miga, Quatchi, and Sumi, the 3 mascots for the upcoming Olympics in Japan ... errrr in Vancouver I mean. Silly me for mistaking those names as being authentically Canadian! You can check them out in depth here.

Perhaps they agreed to the names in exchange for a discount from the Japanese Anime artists?! Further to these overly cute critters, I have an admission and a question.

First, in the interest of full disclosure, I will share with you that I once dated an Air Canada flight attendant named Sumi. She was half Japanese and half Caucasian. The mascot Sumi is cute but she was much cuter. I imagine her colleagues must be teasing the hell out of her!

And now the question: Do you think that Quatchi's hairy stomach was closely modeled after Charles Adler's beard? Think I'm kidding? Take a look at this:

Furthermore, his deep baritone voice is very reminiscent of Adler's!

Push Polling: A Modern Day Scam

Here an hilarious radio interview that clearly demonstrates how fraudulent many polls (and political pollsters) are:
