Reinforcing Negative Stereotypes

I had a good discussion on-air with Big George. Afterwards I sent him this follow-up e-mail:

Big George,

There's another huge problem that Russell Brand has created for Barack Obama. When Obama went on his European Pre-Victory tour, it was interpreted amongst American conservatives that he felt that Europe is the gold standard of societies in the world. The average American loves visiting Europe but most prefer living in and are VERY PROUD of their OWN country. So for a British/European comedian to come over to the U.S. and represent himself that way just reinforces all the negative stereotypes Americans have of arrogant, snooty people on your side of the pond.
