Victim Fantasies of the Radical Left
I don't know about you but this deeply troubles me. Yet further evidence of the Left inventing facts & rewriting history to better suit their own narrative.

Reverend Wright and the Holocaust Museum Shooting
This morning I came across this posting by Amy Alkon concerning Reverend Wright's latest outburst.
Isn't it interesting how during the 2008 Presidential election campaign, if anyone "dared" bring up the peculiarity of Barack Obama spending 20 years of his life in Reverend Wright's church, they were immediately labeled as "racists" and insensitive to Black issues in America.
How terribly convenient, eh?! Dare question Obama's close association with his hate mongering pastor and the entire discussion is immediately swept under the rug under the auspices of RACISM.
Now the latest chapter in Wright's demented life story has been written. It's absolutely no different from the chapters before yet there's no mea culpa from the Left, is there?!
In the comments section of the aforementioned story on Alkon's site was a comment by a woman named Lynne, referring to this editorial. It concerns the recent shooting at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC and the reaction to it.
To recap ... an absolutely demented old man enters the museum with a rifle and kills another human being. And the immediate response of the Left? Blame the "right-wingers"! Blame Rush Limbaugh! Blame Sean Hannity! Yet, never in my life have I EVER heard conservative talk show hosts utter a derogatory word about Jews. Not once. Yet on the Rabid Left blogs (HuffPo, DailyKos, CBC News, etc.) criticism and blame of the Jews is a regular staple in the diet needed to feed their craven sick hearts. It doesn't matter what the topic, the Jews are always blamed by a legion of hateful Leftists. Always!
If "Denial" could be bottled, these folks would be billionaires!
Turns out that the commenter Lynne, had parallel thoughts, which I just read after I wrote this.

David Letterman's Embarrassing Downward Spiral
When I was a teenager and in my early twenties, I was THE biggest fan of David Letterman. But in the past few years he has continuously embarrassed & debased himself. The latest episode involves him saying that Sarah Palin has the look of a "slutty flight attendant". Then he went on to refer to Palin's 14 year old daughter, Willow, being knocked up by NY Yankees player, Alex Rodriguez. Just imagine if someone with a conservative bent made similar jokes about a female Democrat politician like Debbie Wasserman Schultz or Jennifer Granholm. This would be a front page scandal in the New York Times. The double standard is so blatant.
What kind of MAN makes sex jokes about a 14 year old girl?!? And then when confronted with the error of his ways, he refuses to sincerely apologize.
May I suggest that he should donate $1 Million to a charity that focuses on helping young girls who have been sexually abused. It would be a start to show some actual compassion.
Update: Victor Davis Hanson shares some poignant thoughts.

Letter of Amends from a Recovering Liberal in Berkeley
Dear friends, family, loved ones, conservatives, Republicans, libertarians, my brother in law, Sam, and my cousin Joe: I am sorry and you were right.
These are not easy words for anyone to utter, much less a leftist from Berkeley, or a recovering leftist, that is. Even though I've been in recovery for 14 months, 2 weeks, and 3 days, leftists are always right in your face, in an I-hate-you-if-you-disagree sort of way. Hence, this letter of amends to all the people I've lectured, scolded, ranted and raved at, and otherwise annoyed during my 30 plus years of "progressive" politics.
Full letter here...

The Tolerant Left
Notice how we're always told that those on the Left are tolerant and compassionate? My experience has been quite different than that. Here's further anecdotal evidence:

Anti-Semite in the BC NDP?
Anyone following politics in Canada for some time knows that BC has had perhaps the strangest politics of all for many decades. That has pretty much subsided but the bizarre meter may get a new life now that we're entering a new provincial election campaign.
Over the weekend the NDP held a nominating meeting in the riding of Vancouver-Kensington. The despicable Jinny "I make my own laws" Sims of the BCTF was defeated by a woman named Mable Elmore. I had never heard of Ms. Elmore before but now it's coming to light that she once said, "convincing union members to oppose the conflict in Iraq was difficult because of vocal Zionists in our worksites." You can read more here.
Not a surprise that a Radical Leftist (or you can use the term "Peace Activist" which she prefers) doesn't like Jews - it's pretty much par for the course here in Canada - but to be so vocal about it requires a special kind of arrogance.
Isn't it interesting, and more than a little telling, that of all the possible candidates for Vancouver-Kensington, the NDP insisted on choosing between a known lawbreaker and another who has a problem with Jews (though let's just call them "Zionists" to appease the socialist narrative). What a pathetic disgrace.

The Left in January 2009: A Snapshot
In the same week that folks on the Left refuse to condemn or even mildly criticize this:
They also think that this is a perfectly valid comparison:
In a nutshell, this is precisely what is wrong with our society today!

The Deranged, Hateful Left
"But there are fringe elements on both sides", we're always told. No, Mr./Ms. Obama Supporter, those who attacked this girl were mainstream folks JUST LIKE YOU ... or possibly & precisely YOU! Point out someone on the elusive "moderate left" and I'll ask for proof of their public condemnation of situations like this. Failure to provide it and they remain in the Radical Left Hate Camp where us true moderates always suspected them to be.

Hatin' Palin
Here's an important article to pass onto all those you know who H-A-T-E Sarah Palin. I know plenty of them and am embarrassed for each & every one of them.
Charles Krauthammer, besides being a gifted writer, feels that these haters are actually experiencing a phenomenon of self-loathing:
What's remarkable about the reaction to Palin is not only the unfavorable. It's the loathing, the absolute hatred that you hear, especially from intellectuals, feminists, sort of east coast, west coast, pointy headed [elites]. ... In Palin's case, I think what adds to it is her decision at her age with four other children to have a down syndrome child. This, too, as Joseph Epstein wrote, in feminist circles if abortion is not about this, what's it about?
And they look at her as sort of a back room — a backwater hick, who, for religious reasons, went ahead and had a child that they would never have.
Underneath it, I think, deep underneath it, I think it's a self-loathing on the part of these feminists, knowing that what she did is virtuous and a generous act that they would have never have undertaken. And her having undertaken it is an affront to them, a silent rebuke.

Canada's French-Canadian Quagmire
With the Bloc Québécois consistently winning a large majority of seats in Quebec (50 out of 75 in the recent election) it has become almost impossible for any other party to win a clear majority.Listening to Norman Spector this morning he indicated that Yolande Brunelle, who is the wife of Bloc leader Gilles Duceppe, recently said that part of the strategy of the Bloc is to block any federal party from ever achieving a majority. She feels that this will eventually alienate other Canadians so much that they'll eventually want Quebec to leave.
Frankly, I think this has already occurred. To be clear, I don't believe that most Canadians want Quebec to become independent but they're tired of Quebecers never being satisfied enough.
And make no mistake, Stephen Harper has gone out of his way to give Quebec an endless stream of goodies that no other province received. But in the end, it was all for naught. The Globe & Mail's Jeffrey Simpson has an excellent, detailed take on all of this.
The way out of this quagmire may occur when extra seats are assigned to Ontario, Alberta, and B.C. to reflect their increased populations. Until then, we're likely stuck with permanent minority governments.
Further to Canadian majority governments, on the most recent CBC Sunday Edition show there was a discussion of the aftermath of the recent election. One of the 3 guests was Michael Byers, the failed NDP candidate in my riding of Vancouver Centre.
Byers is a bitter, almost creepy little man. He perpetrated the myth that Canadians don't want Harper's "neo-con" agenda. Precisely what about the Conservative platform is extremely right-wing Lil' Byers did not choose to illuminate us on.Later on in the discussion the host said to Byers: "Jack Layton kept saying that I'm your next prime minister. He kept saying that we're the only national party to be a possible opposition to Stephen Harper. And yet that didn't play in Quebec or outside of your base either."
Byers responded with this: "But Jack Layton did stop a Conservative majority by winning a number of new seats in Northern Ontario and holding onto a core of seats in British Columbia. And that difference was what kept Mr. Harper to a minority and has enabled us to continue to find ways forward to cooperate and make parliament work rather than having a dictator essentially for the next 4 years...." (The emphasis is mine.)
Like an all-star wrestler, Tasha Kheiriddin, the Conservative pundit on the panel, bitch slapped Bitter Byers down with this immediate and calm response: "I want to know why it is that when a Conservative is threatening to get a majority, one calls him a dictator. If Stephane Dion got a majority, Michael, I don't think you'd be complaining about a dictator being in parliament. Our parliament works best when there is a majority government, which is able to put forward a clear agenda. That is our tradition and while we've had some successful minority parliaments but also some very disastrous ones. And in this case our country is facing a major worldwide financial crisis and we have a minority parliament and it's not clear how efficient or effective a government is going to be now dealing with this."

Jon Stewart: The King of "Progressives"
Language warning:
More details here of how the MSM is mostly ignoring this story.
It's quite amazing how Post Modern Bigots like Jon Stewart think there's nothing wrong with atrocious behavior ... as long as that behavior is directed at those who disagree with them. Yet they have the gall to refer to themselves as "progressive" and "enlightened". A new word needs to be invented to cover "extreme hypocrisy"!

Canada's Very Own Hatemonger Continues Spewing Her Venom
In this very telling article in the NY Times, the CBC's venom-spewing Heather Mallick continues to be unapologetic and, in fact, expresses more of her hatred toward many Americans:
In an e-mail message, Ms. Mallick said she believed that the complaints had been “orchestrated” by Fox News and came largely from Americans. “My problem is that I have to write with a certain kind of reader in mind, and that person is always going to be my vision of an intelligent Canadian,” Ms. Mallick said. “I don’t write for Fox viewers.”
Thus, in one fell swoop, she states that:- Anyone who disagrees with her is unintelligent.
- Americans who watch Fox news are idiots.
- To prosecute the free speech rights of Ezra Levant and Mark Steyn.
- To keep Heather Mallick employed at the CBC.

Just Another "Moderate" Liberal
I've been frequently chastised that I'm unfair about grouping all liberals together. With that in mind, let's examine what Florida Democrat Congressman, Alcee Hastings, said yesterday. He warned minority groups "to beware of Sarah Palin because 'anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and Blacks'.”
And the outrage against this comment from "moderate liberals"? Sorry but all I hear are grasshoppers chirping in the silence.
Just imagine the outrage if a McCain-Palin supporter had said something similar!

One Twit's Reaction to Sarah Palin
Hide the children and watch this video. Be sure to catch the last bit about "Sarah Palin only being good for 2 things" :
You think this guy is radical or extreme? Not at all! Search YouTube and search the blogosphere and it's just par-for-the-course of what you'll find.
As I pointed out to him though, the more he speaks out like this, the more he's securing a victory for McCain. Such hateful reaction to Palin is clearly doing the following:
- Firming up the Republican base, unlike it has been so far in the campaign.
- Repulsing undecided voters away from the Democrats.
- Driving a huge hole in the false beliefs that liberalism equates to compassion.
Update: I have also encountered radical Republican supporters too, like one guy who went on & on about how the U.S. and Israel are the only countries blessed by God. I tried arguing him for awhile but when he told me that I was a socialist because I lived in Canada, I realized I was dealing with a fellow with an IQ less than 50, likely wearing an adult diaper.
