Reverend Wright and the Holocaust Museum Shooting

This morning I came across this posting by Amy Alkon concerning Reverend Wright's latest outburst.

Isn't it interesting how during the 2008 Presidential election campaign, if anyone "dared" bring up the peculiarity of Barack Obama spending 20 years of his life in Reverend Wright's church, they were immediately labeled as "racists" and insensitive to Black issues in America.

How terribly convenient, eh?! Dare question Obama's close association with his hate mongering pastor and the entire discussion is immediately swept under the rug under the auspices of RACISM.

Now the latest chapter in Wright's demented life story has been written. It's absolutely no different from the chapters before yet there's no mea culpa from the Left, is there?!

In the comments section of the aforementioned story on Alkon's site was a comment by a woman named Lynne, referring to this editorial. It concerns the recent shooting at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC and the reaction to it.

To recap ... an absolutely demented old man enters the museum with a rifle and kills another human being. And the immediate response of the Left? Blame the "right-wingers"! Blame Rush Limbaugh! Blame Sean Hannity! Yet, never in my life have I EVER heard conservative talk show hosts utter a derogatory word about Jews. Not once. Yet on the Rabid Left blogs (HuffPo, DailyKos, CBC News, etc.) criticism and blame of the Jews is a regular staple in the diet needed to feed their craven sick hearts. It doesn't matter what the topic, the Jews are always blamed by a legion of hateful Leftists. Always!

If "Denial" could be bottled, these folks would be billionaires!

Turns out that the commenter Lynne, had parallel thoughts, which I just read after I wrote this.

Lest we forget, the NDP fully desired for Canada to participate in this conference:

Anti-Semite in the BC NDP?

Anyone following politics in Canada for some time knows that BC has had perhaps the strangest politics of all for many decades. That has pretty much subsided but the bizarre meter may get a new life now that we're entering a new provincial election campaign.

Over the weekend the NDP held a nominating meeting in the riding of Vancouver-Kensington. The despicable Jinny "I make my own laws" Sims of the BCTF was defeated by a woman named Mable Elmore. I had never heard of Ms. Elmore before but now it's coming to light that she once said, "convincing union members to oppose the conflict in Iraq was difficult because of vocal Zionists in our worksites." You can read more here.

Not a surprise that a Radical Leftist (or you can use the term "Peace Activist" which she prefers) doesn't like Jews - it's pretty much par for the course here in Canada - but to be so vocal about it requires a special kind of arrogance.

Isn't it interesting, and more than a little telling, that of all the possible candidates for Vancouver-Kensington, the NDP insisted on choosing between a known lawbreaker and another who has a problem with Jews (though let's just call them "Zionists" to appease the socialist narrative). What a pathetic disgrace.

Anti-Semitism: Alive & Well in CUPE Ontario

Despicable news from the CUPE Ontario conference in Windsor, Ontario.

Congratulations CUPE members, you've performed a two-fer:
  1. Shown how you feel about Free Speech in Canada.

  2. Shown your true colours toward Jews.

Brilliant! Now be sure to teach your children well ... so that we can get a whole new generation of bigots. Sigh.

Shame on you all! Truly, SHAME On You ALL!!!

And why you ask? Because their CEO, Howard Schultz, is Jewish. Story here. Analysis here.

Update: For a Canadian perspective on the virulent anti-Semitism, here's a compelling summary of what recently happened in Calgary.

Back on the Grid!

For a variety of reasons, I've not had Internet access since last Friday. This has been mostly bliss but it's nice to be able to catch up again.

I immediately went to Jonathan Kay's excellent blog to get updated on the Canadian Zeitgeist. It was beyond shock that I discovered what finally happened to Heather Mallick at the CBC News site. I paid particular attention to how CBC News head, John Cruickshank finished his commentary: "CBCNews.ca will soon expand the diversity of voices and opinions and be home to a diverse group of writers with many perspectives. In this, we will better reflect the depth and texture of this country. We erred in our editorial judgment. You told us in no uncertain terms. And we have learned from it."

I am taking him at his word and have applied to become a blogger at CBCNews.ca. Quite frankly, I am confident that I can add a great diversity to the voices there, plus a bunch of superb photographs! I'll let you know when I hear back from them.

Incidentally, down here in the U.S. there is a dirth of news about Canada but the Mallick story even made the news down here!

Kay had a number of interesting new posts as well. One of them was about an ultra-hypocritical group of students at York University. Hmmm, where have we heard about strange views of York University students before? Oh yes, that's the same school that educated law students into wanting to muzzle Maclean's Magazine and Mark Steyn.

The piece de resistance on Kay's blog though was this summary of how bloggers are making a difference on the Canadian political scene. It lead me to Robert Jago's blog. He is being attacked by the Green Party of Canada for their peculiar views about Jewish people and Israel in general. Even more on this subject can be found on this other blog.

CUPW: Yet another anti-semetic Canadian union

It has long baffled me why being part of a Canadian union has anything to do with the State of Israel on the other side of the planet. Yet time after time I see strange stories about such unions vehemently against Israel and in support of the Palestinians.

While such support is couched with phrases like "helping oppressed people" and "standing up for human rights", I've long suspected that what's really at work behind the scenes is a deep-seated hatred toward Jews amongst some agitators in the union.

The fact is that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a very complex one. Anyone who takes the position that "one side is completely wrong and the other side is angelic" is a fool of the highest calibre. Speaking of fools . . .

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers "has no plans to block mail to and from Israel as of yet." I'd imagine that 99% of such mail would be either to or from a Jewish person. Just imagine what would occur if this union were to announce that they may start blocking mail to/from China. If I were a Chinese-Canadian person, I'd be outraged ... and rightly so.

One has to wonder if a requirement to join CUPW is to indicate some sort of anti-Jewish bias? Perhaps if you do then your monthly union payments get reduced. Or maybe you get discounts on such books as:

  • Intolerance: What all the Kool Posties are doing these days!
  • How to destroy mail without getting caught - a hacker's guide
  • Nazi Calligraphy, the art of drawing the perfect swastika
Do you think CUPW has a special salute?!
