Lunch at the Tequila Kitchen
I'd recently read a review of the Tequila Kitchen in the Vancouver Courier. While my city has some fine restaurants, it is infamous for its complete lack of authentic Mexican food. So I decided to give this new place a try.
The restaurant is family-owned by people who are actually from Mexico. The service is very friendly and prompt. The food was very good and definitely the best Mexican food I've ever had in Vancouver. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey. Soup, 4 mini-tacos, a little rice, beans, and salad cost $21 with tip. This is quite par for the course for Yaletown but a bit much to do lunch here on a regular basis.
When mi numero uno amigo de Mexico visits this summer then I will take him here for dinner and see what he thinks.

For the cost of ingredients in Vancouver, especially the importers ingredients they have you use, and what must be high rent in Yaletown I actually thinks that�s incredibly good value - cheap in fact! It might cost 1/2 that in Mexico but they probably make 10 times the profit in Mexico on a meal like this.
"Incredibly good value" is more than a LITTLE stretch, amigo!
I am very supportive of all small entrepreneurs, including these folks but I didn't want anyone going there thinking that it would be an inexpensive meal.
