Sarah Palin and Abraham Lincoln

For some time now, several pundits have suggested that Barack Obama is the modern day equivalent of President Abraham Lincoln. I've never seen any similarities other than that they were both lawyers and started their political careers in the state of Illinois.

Sarah Palin's introduction into the political race provides a more interesting comparison with Lincoln. Here are some compelling similarities:

  • Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809. Sarah Palin was born on February 11, 1964.
  • Both was born & raised in what was/is the hinterland of America at the time.
  • Both are adamant mavericks, determined to do what they feel is right, no matter if that ruffles the feathers of even their own party.
  • Lincoln was a true frontiersman who grew up in small towns.
  • Palin is a true frontier woman, who grew up in small towns.
  • Lincoln and his wife, Mary, had 4 children.
  • Palin and her husband, Todd, have had 5 children.
Historians will undoubtedly be able to cite more similarities but if there is such a thing as reincarnation, something tells me that President Lincoln would be most pleased to see Sarah Palin being nominated for VP!

"Sarah Palin is more qualified than Barack Obama for the presidency."

Barack Obama and Lincoln have almost the exact same resume at this points in ther respective runs for the presidency - Lawyer, 2 terms in the IL State Senate, 1 term as US Senator.

Therefore, Sarah Palin is more qualified than Lincoln was for the presidency.

Um... okay ...

Abraham Lincoln's political life was about his great vision for peace, harmony and what life could be like in a unified America. This vision allowed him to work with those whose views were opposite from his which resulted in major political breakthroughs.

Reincarnation isn't about the superficialities. It's about carrying the purpose of life forward.

Leaving bias aside, look at the deeper issues, Barack Obama's life moves Abraham Lincoln's life purpose forward.

In regard to your list, think of what a lot of key democrats feel BO should be doing re recent attacks on him:
'Both are adamant mavericks, determined to do what they feel is right, no matter if that ruffles the feathers of even their own party."

If he wins, ruffled feathers will be the name of the game because he will look at things a lot differently than is the norm. As did Abe.

Another difference this time around is the choice of a much happier life. A sexy, happy wife with two lovely children in a large, centrally located home instead of an isolated area.

But to make sure, just ask about this after making the transition. At the time of life review, we each get shown what we need to know to get a larger perspective of what went on in the life just lived. If we ask. ;-)

Also, remember that the key to all of this drama and every other on Earth now, is to move consciousness forward so that real life can be transformed.

All the players involved, without exception, are fulfilling their Soul's life purpose... very, very well...

To each their own, Angela, but you lost me throughout much of your comment, especially here: "Another difference this time around is the choice of a much happier life. A sexy, happy wife with two lovely children in a large, centrally located home instead of an isolated area."

Ok. And I thought that was perhaps the clearest part of a veryyyy long, much longer than intended, comment! ;-)

I gather that Mrs. Lincoln was depressed. I don't want to post a link here but you can search to find info... Also my information is that they lived in a log cabin up in the mountains... Again, check for verification.
