Historical Video from Peter Schiff
This video, shot on November 13, 2006, is 73 minutes long but well worth it. Peter Schiff made some brilliant common sense predictions about what was to happen in the coming years ... and much has come true!
A 40-something Western Canadian who still thinks he's 24. Dreamer, thinker, photographer, traveler, entrepreneur, software developer. Adores women immensely but is still working hard at trying to understand them! :-)
This is my personal blog and primarily focuses on my photography & videography.

You might think that I mixed up the words of the Subject heading, but it's actually correct. 50 years ago, if someone said that, they would have been deemed insane.

There's an old adage, "Be careful what you wish for." Too bad for the newspaper and TV journalists that they did not heed this wise advice. The vast majority of them clearly wanted Barack Obama to win. More than a few of them shelved their journalistic ethics in order to push their guy over the top. That's not speculation, that's a fact.
Just a few months later, it appears that many of them are going to lose their jobs, directly because of Obama's policies. Kate McMillan, at SDA, explains why.
Absolutely delicious irony. Too bad so many are going to be hurt by their shortsightedness though.

The Telegraph has published a very informative article regarding the actual costs of upcoming Cap & Trade programs (read "taxes") in both the UK and the USA. Current estimates are as follows:

The Left's greatest fantasies are quickly becoming reality in America. Mark Steyn slices & dices the absolute bureaucratic stupidity that is Obama's America. Here's a snippet:
Ever since last November, many Americans have been ready for free health care, free day care, free college, free mortgages – and, once you get a taste for that, it's hardly surprising you're not ready for gainful employment.

California voters have resoundingly sent a message to the legislators in Sacramento. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger says he's listening. Only time will tell if any of them truly are!

George Will has written a stunning article, showing precisely what has gone wrong with California's economy. Headed by a RINO governor and ultra-leftist congress, the state is a perfect example of where Barack Obama & Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid will be taking the entire United States. Simply put, the private sector can not afford to support a public sector that grows too large. Here's a telling snippet from Will's article:
The state's crisis has been caused by "moderation," understood as splitting the difference between extreme liberalism and hyperliberalism, a "reasonableness" that merely moderates the speed at which the ever-expanding public sector suffocates the private sector. California has become liberalism's laboratory, in which the case for fiscal conservatism is being confirmed. The state is a slow learner and hence will remain a drag on the nation's economy.

Comments on the video page indicate that the math is wrong. This prompted me to double-check it and in fact, the MATH IS CORRECT!
Here's another way to look at it:
Budget: $3,520,000,000,000 which is represented by 8,800 pennies in the video
$3.52 Trillion / $100 Million = 35,200
8,800 pennies / 0.25 pennies = 35,200
The ratios are identical and thus the math and the video are absolutely correct!
I hope everyone now understands:

This story caught my attention. There's MUCH MORE to this story which has not yet been mentioned. Please do yourself a favour and download this podcast. Then tune to 54:00 and listen. Listen carefully.
What you'll hear is Mark Levin replay a segment from a Detroit radio station where a lawyer working on behalf of the financial lenders to Chrysler describes the Backroom Thugocracy that is the Obama Administration.
Just imagine that you lent, in good faith, a bunch of money to a company. And part of the terms of your loan were that you would be paid back first. Then one day the government comes along and threatens to attack you via the media, which they have de facto control over.
Do you think that's legal? Do you think it's remotely ethical?
A final point to consider: Hedge funds often represent the pensions of large unions. So if you still support Obama on this issue then make no mistake that you are condemning hundreds of thousands of teachers and other union members to certain financial hardship.

I strongly encourage you to visit this discussion thread on SDA. Scroll down a bit (or search) and find the entries by a Radical Leftist who goes by the moniker of 'philboy'. You'll then get a quick education on what it is like to try to debate folks of his ilk these days. Might remind you of Susan Roesgen! Shown below is the comment I left.

Susan Roesgen is a "reporter" for CNN. With all due respect that "R" word has to be in quotes. She is emblematic of how so many in the mainstream media have strayed far away from any semblance of ethical & professional journalism. The majority of the Americans who took the time and made the effort to peacefully protest their displeasure at the massive amount of debt their government is racking up are not "extreme right-wing nutbars" like Roesgen and her colleagues would have you believe. Yet she could not hold back her personal disdain for all of them, including the man she started to "interview" but then rudely interrupted when what he was saying didn't fall into line with her own political views. What kind of REAL journalist would do that?
The United States of America was founded by citizens just like you see here in Chicago, who were angry at an unaccountable, uncaring government that had grown deaf to their very legitimate concerns. Is history repeating itself? Make no mistake, these people are angry at both political parties and the politicians within. This is not so much a protest at Barack Obama, as it is against the irresponsibility of government as a whole.
As a thought experiment, imagine Susan Roesgen transported back to 1776, shoving her microphone into the faces of the citizens of the original colones and asking them why they were revolting. Then, when not getting the answer she seeketh, pulling away and screaming, "What dost though protest against?! The King of England hath given you so much!"
