My Faith in Humanity Is Waning
I frequently hear from politicians that the "collective wisdom of the public knows all". Really?! I somehow doubt it.
In just the past few days I've heard/read the following:
- The people who want independence in Tibet are terrorists & criminals and Mother China is a benevolent government.
- Because of what happened to North American Natives in the past few hundred years justifies China doing what they are to the "ungrateful" people of Tibet.
- Robert Mugabe's Zimbabwe has the most democratic government on the planet.
- After WW2, most German people thought that their Nazi government had done nothing wrong, not even to the Jews.

Fiction, Fact, & Fun!
Fiction: The NY Times inventing a story
Fact: Mark Steyn explaining the truth
Fun: Blogger "Iowahawk" turning the tables on the media
P.S. The last one is the funniest thing I've read in years!

Typical Hillary Clinton
Today on the radio I heard Mark Steyn talking about the passing of Sir Edmund Hillary. He explained how on May 29, 1953 he and Sherpa mountaineer, Tenzing Norgay, climbed to the summit of Mt. Everest.
Later in the discussion he told the infamous story of when Hillary Rodham Clinton first met Edmund Hillary in person. She told him that her parents named her after him.
Interesting, except for one thing: She was born on October 26, 1947, over 5 years before he became famous! Prior to that he was an obscure beekeeper in New Zealand, with absolutely no notoriety whatsoever.

Those Darn Accurate Horoscopes!
Just when I'm ready to dismiss horoscopes entirely, I read this pair in the weekend Vancouver Sun for Virgos:
Saturday, April 14th
The story that's told by appearances isn't the whole truth. The one who looks like a past love sure doesn't act the same!
Sunday, April 15th
The emotional reverberations you're feeling aren't all in your head. Take all the time you need to process. The satisfaction you get from deeply listening to yourself is invaluable.
If you knew all that's gone on in my life this past week, you'd exclaim, "Wow, that's spooky!" But alas, not everything is fit to print.
