Obvious Signs in Vancouver - Part 47

In August, my "sister", Kristi, visited from Chicago. She pointed out that there are an exorbitant number of "obvious" signs throughout this community. I had not noticed this before but now keep an eye out for them. Here's one at Broadway & Granville:

They are mainly for tourists from parts of the world where you drive on the left side of the road. They have them in London as well and I cant tell you how many times I have been caught looking in the wrond direction just instinctively and then the sign reminds me of looking in the correct direction.

So this is our way of saying that we are a truly global city and we welcome people from everywhere and that we care about their safety in every way.

Yes, I know they're useful ... even for locals. I often criticize my own mother for not observing the traffic before she steps out on the road. She says she does but I've observed her eyes and she clearly does not. Neither do a lot of pedestrians I encounter.
