Dexterity Game

I challenged Danny to a Typing Speed challenge on Facebook at which I was averaging around 65wpm. He's not touch-typist and didn't fare so well.

But then he directed me to try out this game. All you have to do is keep the red square from touching the blue squares or the black border. Seems easy. It isn't though! I could only reach about 10 seconds, but was often under 3! He said his record is 30 seconds.

Do let me know the best you can do!

The London Daily News

John Kaponi, a well regarded citizen of London, has launched a new online newspaper called The London Daily News. If you want to learn what is really going on in one of the world's most prominent cities then this is the place to go!

Incidentally, John can often be heard reviewing the news of the day on BBC London Radio, Sunday - Thursday at 6pm PDT (9pm EDT). I found it absolutely fascinating to listen to such discussions from the other side of the earth.

Why Is The Internet Different Than Real Life?

If you use the Internet more than a little, here's an important video you should watch (ensure there are no kids around) :

The speaker, Tom, makes some excellent points, all of which I've been thinking about for years now. The truth is that the anonymity the Internet provides allows the very worst people in society to control a much larger community. Imagine attending a party full of lots of wonderful, interesting people. But one person slips in who is drunk. She shouts & screams and curses all night. Do you think the party will be the same?

When I embark on my family of social networking sites, I plan to implement peer-level moderation ability, allowing the group to exorcise the troublemaker out of the discussion. If said troublemaker keeps it up in other discussions then they'll be removed permanently and blocked via their IP address. While they could go to another computer, say at an Internet cafe, they'll quickly be booted out again. Hopefully they'll grow tired of being ostracized and will find another home to espouse their anger.

Hooked on Snowplow Games

Perhaps it's because of the time of the year or perhaps it's because it's dreary outside, but I've found myself playing the following game more than I should:
