The English have long been said to have the best sense of humour on earth but I checked the calendar and it's not April 1st so I assume this is legit:



Isn't it interesting how Britain has a government agency set up to investigate something interesting whilst Canada has a number of agencies set up to suppress free speech.

The Drip Drip Drip of Political Correctness Continues

In what would make a brilliant Monty Python comedy sketch, there comes a real story out of Britain about a police force feeling the need to apologize to Muslim leaders over an ad featuring ... wait for it ... a German Shepherd puppy. Welcome to the future where your animals will have to be locked up or euthanized and all women will have to be covered up with nothing more than a slit for their eyes. Lovely, just lovely. Perhaps an intermediate step would be a law that all dogs out in public have to wear a burka?

Though I don't agree with it, I understand the perverse twisted logic of the politically correct social activists in Britain and here in British Columbia. In their view of the world, everyone is a victim. They assign victim points depending on a person's sex, sexual orientation, race, and religion. So a bi-sexual, transsexual, quadriplegic, burka wearing Muslim woman on welfare would have the maximum 100 points, while a straight, able bodied, hard working Christian white male would have the minimum of 0 points. In any situation, the person with the most points gets to be the victim (and often be paid compensation) if they feel they've been offended by someone with less points. You see, it's that simple. Don't you get it?!

But what the Muslim plaintiffs don't seem to realize is that they are stirring up a growing backlash against all Muslims. Once the tipping point of the backlash is reached, there's no turning back. The politically correct ninkampoops will be pushed aside and completely innocent Muslims will be hurt in the process. This is in no way is a threat on my part but simply a prediction of where things are headed. The backlash has already started here in Canada, with Canadians finally waking up to their country being destroyed by political correctness. It will happen in Europe one day too. Until then, I think a clothing entrepreneur should consider my Burka for Pooches idea!

The British Educational System is an Abysmal Failure!

I've previously reported that 91% of British teachers are against helping students develop a better sense of British identity. They cite phrases like "morally ambiguous issues" and "patriotism getting in the way of multi-cultural issues" to defend their views. All of this is ultra left-wing claptrap!

As I've mentioned before, nowadays I spend a lot of time listening to BBC London Radio. It's a superb station, where you hear from a multitude of average Londoners about what is really going on in the UK, not just the fluff their Tourism Department wants you to know about. What's very clear is that there are severe problems there now, much of them centered around misguided youths who know little about their nation's history and who have divided themselves into different groups & even gangs, based on ethnic and religious differences. This is the future that awaits Canada and the U.S. if we continue along the same path.

A new poll has been conducted that provides further proof of the great incompetence of the British school system and the teachers over there. Here are some of the findings:

• 20% of students believe that Winston Churchill was a fictional character.
• 58% believe that Sherlock Holmes was a real person, who lived at 221B Baker Street.
• 47% believe that Eleanor Rigby was a real person rather than a name invented by The Beatles.
• 51% believe that Robin Hood was a real man who lived in Sherwood Forest.

Without further investigation, no one can place the blame on individual teachers, but there clearly must be an abundance of teachers and undoubtedly their union, who must be given an "F" for failure. If they were in jobs where they could readily be fired, then the "F" would take on an even more important meaning!

I have nothing against the British, nor their country. In fact, I have many friends who hail from there. What I am sick and tired of is institutional incompetence that is defended by those who are more interested in keeping their jobs than actually doing their jobs properly.

People Can Only Be Pushed So Far

An interesting debate is occurring in Britain over the trial of an Islamic extremist, who is being tried on a plot to kidnap and behead a British Muslim soldier. Many average British people are outraged that many British Muslims are quite publicly refusing to condemn such an action. And then in turn, anyone who is so outraged is apparently a racist.

This editorial has set off a tirade of letters to the editor, including this one:

Sir: I am surprised that Yasmin Alibhai-Brown should be surprised at the new prejudice and discrimination in British society ("Why is racial abuse now considered acceptable?", 28 January). What really ought to surprise her is that it has taken so long for the backlash to 7/7, and other atrocities, to materialise.

How can the ordinary British citizen be expected to distinguish between the law-abiding Muslim and the extremist? In these circumstances it is easiest, and safest, to assume the worst and to take refuge in whatever form of defence comes readily to hand – even foul language.

As an asylum-seeker myself, albeit of many decades ago from Nazi Germany, I can only draw Yasmin Alibhai-Brown's attention to the distinction between assimilation and conformity. Nobody is asking Muslims to assimilate, but it behoves immigrants, of whatever religion, to conform to the norms of the society in which they have chosen to live.

When we read (as we have just done) of Muslims seeking to behead another human being, or to commit other appalling atrocities, then it is reasonable for ordinary folk to ask – what are these people doing here anyway and why do they choose to behave in ways which appall us?

My generation of immigrants conformed. We retain and value features of our origins, but we do not demand privileges or special treatment and we contribute to the life of the nation as best as we can. Ten thousand of us fought for Britain in the Second World War – a small expression of gratitude to the country which gave us refuge.

Yasmin Alibhai-Brown needs to ask herself to what extent the racial intolerance which she condemns is of her, and others', own making? What has she, and others like her, done to bridge the ever-widening gap between what seems to us an alien culture and a way of life which in these islands has endured for centuries and which, in many ways, still makes this country one of the most civilised in the world?

Is Gordon Brown Right or Wrong?

New British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, has quickly set new policy after the recent terrorism attempts:

Gordon Brown has banned ministers from using the word ‘Muslim’ in ¬connection with the ¬terrorism crisis. The Prime Minister has also instructed his team – including new Home Secretary Jacqui Smith – that the phrase ‘war on ¬terror’ is to be dropped. The shake-up is part of a fresh attempt to improve community relations and avoid offending Muslims, adopting a more ‘consensual’ tone than existed under Tony Blair… Mr Brown’s spokesman acknowledged yesterday that ministers had been given specific guidelines to avoid inflammatory language. ‘There is clearly a need to strike a consensual tone in relation to all communities across the UK,’ the spokesman said. ‘It is important that the country remains united.’

Mark Steyn on the Iranian Hostage Taking

Further to what I just wrote about the CBC human rights discussion, Mark Steyn writes a brilliant article supporting exactly what I said. Yes, of course give peace & negotiations a chance. But the Iranians know that Britain, the EU, and the UN are unlikely to do anything more than mildly protest what's going on. What a pathetic way for Tony Blair to finish up his term as prime minister.

Also, could someone please send me links to articles on how the left-wing press, so quick to condemn the U.S. for everything, is condemning Iran for this? Their silence speaks volumes.

On Mark Levin's Show!

After listening to him for many years, I finally appeared on-air on Mark Levin's show. He broadcasts out of New York City to stations all over the United States, plus on the Internet. I've listened to him for years. He's much further right wing than I am but I do respect his views very much.

He was discussing the terrible abduction of the British sailors by the Iranian government and how they're illegally being put on television and coerced by Iranian officials to voice propaganda.

I clearly hope that negotiations get them released but if the murder of Canadian photographer, Zahra Kazemi, in 2003 or the hostage taking of 52+ Americans in Tehran in 1979 is any example, then a show of force will eventually be needed.
