How Quickly Things Can Change . . .

Inspired by something I heard from Dennis Prager . . .

Imagine you were at a party 2 weeks ago and started a conversation with a woman you met. In the course of the discussion she expressed to you that she considered herself to be very liberal and a definite feminist.

With a twinkle in your eye, what do you think would be her response if you said the following to her: "I can't explain why, but I predict that if a no-nonsense, get-the-job done professional woman with a personality similar to Hillary Clinton, but 20 years younger, were to run for political office, you would vilify and condemn her and ask how on earth she'll be able to balance her family life with the duties of the job."

What do you think would be the reaction of this self-defined liberal feminist? Yet just 2 weeks later . . .

Fascinating Words from a Former Islamic Terrorist

I came across this article by accident but am glad I did. It describes very succinctly why all this soul searching that many in the West do to figure out why "they hate us so" is all a complete waste of time and effort.

Here's a very telling passage:

And as with previous terror attacks, people are again saying that violence carried out by Muslims is all to do with foreign policy.

For example, on Saturday on Radio 4's Today programme, the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, said: "What all our intelligence shows about the opinions of disaffected young Muslims is the main driving force is not Afghanistan, it is mainly Iraq."

I left the British Jihadi Network in February 2006 because I realised that its members had simply become mindless killers. But if I were still fighting for their cause, I'd be laughing once again.
