Leavin' In The Rain
Last night & this morning it rained cats & dogs. I guess Hawaii is encouraging me to head back home!
Here are 2 Leis I purchased on behalf of my 88 year-old friend from Chicago named Toni. They'll be given to our common friend, Deenu, and his pregnant wife, Ravena. The first is a woman's lei and the second is for a man.
Update: If you'd like to see several more videos from Hawaii then click here.

A Rainy Day in Waikiki
It wasn't the best weather today so I stayed inside most of the day. In the early evening though I headed out, took a few photos, and had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen (aka "CPK").
This is a shot of Diamond Head. If you click on the thumbnail you'll notice that the photo is very grainy. It was fairly dark so I manually increased the ISO on my Canon G9, which results in a more grainy image.

Embrace the Rain? Not Today!
It was absolutely miserable in Vancouver today, but I was fortunate enough to attend a lovely birthday party of the 1 year-old daughter of some friends of mine. In their home it was bright and vibrant and colourful.

Embracing the Rain of Vancouver!
It seems to have been raining for all but about 5 minutes since I returned to Vancouver Sunday evening! But I'm feeling so great these days that I refuse to let the crummy weather get my spirits down. A few years ago a friend of mine, Anna, moved from Hong Kong to Vancouver. I first met her in the summertime. I asked her if she was ready for the rainy months ahead. She said that she was fully prepared to "embrace the rain". So in her honour (and it is her birthday today) I created this video:

Back in Vancouver - Ughhh!
I arrived home last night about 5pm. It was dark & rainy. What a contrast from the 2 weeks of nearly perfect weather I enjoyed. I'm still wayyyy behind in posting my travel photos & videos (and I have some GREAT ones). I will post them, in correct chronological order, but will post links backward to the ones I'm especially fond of.
It's always nice to be home but to say I'm truly ecstatic about it wouldn't be factually correct.

Who Left The Shaggy Dog Out In The Rain?
I went out for a walk. It was a tad cloudy but I chanced that it wouldn't rain. Oh how wrong I was! I got drenched, absolutely drenched! Normally I wouldn't post such a miserable photo of me but hopefully this will convince all of you back in Vancouver that it isn't wonderfully sunny here all the time!In fact, the Sony-Ericsson Tennis Tournament is struggling with all of this rain.

A Little Satisfaction For My Cold Weather Friends
A couple of notes about these photos:
- They were taken a few minutes ago, about 1:45pm (ie. the middle of the day!).
- They were not shot through any kind of cloudy, dirty glass, but directly w/o any obstructions.
- It's impossible to see the rain but trust me, it was heavy!
