The Liberal Mind Analyzed by a Psychologist

This book is priceless! Here are some key points in a recent review:

"A social scientist who understands human nature will not dismiss the vital roles of free choice, voluntary cooperation and moral integrity – as liberals do," he says. "A political leader who understands human nature will not ignore individual differences in talent, drive, personal appeal and work ethic, and then try to impose economic and social equality on the population – as liberals do. And a legislator who understands human nature will not create an environment of rules which over-regulates and over-taxes the nation's citizens, corrupts their character and reduces them to wards of the state – as liberals do."

Dr. Rossiter says the liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:

  • creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization;
  • satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation;
  • augmenting primitive feelings of envy;
  • rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the government.

"The roots of liberalism – and its associated madness – can be clearly identified by understanding how children develop from infancy to adulthood and how distorted development produces the irrational beliefs of the liberal mind," he says. "When the modern liberal mind whines about imaginary victims, rages against imaginary villains and seeks above all else to run the lives of persons competent to run their own lives, the neurosis of the liberal mind becomes painfully obvious."

Look up "Moron" and you'll see the photo of Avi Lewis

Avi Lewis is the poster boy for American hating, Christian hating extremist liberals. Watch him here try to lecture a very brave woman from Somalia, Ayaan Hirsi, about his warped view that there's a lack of freedom and democracy in the United States.

Without a doubt, he represents everything that is wrong with Canadian liberals. Incidentally, some have speculated that this CBC interview was what got him the job at Al Jazeera.

Welfare Entitlement Mentality

I was in a good mood this morning until I read this and this.

The editorials are about a 58 year old woman in New Orleans named Sharon Jasper who is the poster girl for excessive liberal entitlement mentality. She has been on welfare for 57 of those years. In a separate article, she was featured in her government subsidized apartment, complete with hardwood floors and a large screen television. But that's not enough for her. Though she pays no rent, she's complaining that she also has to pay for the utilities that she uses. Wow, shocking, there is actually something in life that she has to pay for herself! Human rights violation! Social injustice! Racism!

How about, "Give Me A Break".

After reading all of this, I couldn't help but be reminded of John F. Kennedy's famous quote: "And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country."

The thing is, people like Jasper exist in every country of the world where welfare exists. I would suggest to you that the more generous the welfare, the larger the percentage of people who are on it. I am in support of getting rid of it? Absolutely not, but every government should go back to first principles and ask what welfare is for. Then they should change it so as to incentivize people to get off it and start working.

In my own life, I find a certain percentage of recipients from my computer donation program who have exactly this mentality, this sense of entitlement. Where their level of greed becomes too great, we reject them ... without apology. I often wonder if we're the first ones who have ever said 'No' to them.

Another big difference in Canada is that most of the people with the same warped view of the world as Jasper are white. So I absolutely detest that when people like Jasper are hauled onto the proverbial carpet and described for exactly what they are, that "racism" is automatically decried.

I'll leave you with a definition that I believe well describes this entitlement mentality:

in·fan·til·ize (nfn-tl-z, n-fn-)tr.v. in·fan·til·ized, in·fan·til·iz·ing, in·fan·til·iz·es

1. To reduce to an infantile state or condition.
2. To treat or condescend to as if still a young child.

Christy Clark's Show: Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down?

Have you sampled Christy Clark's new show on CKNW? If so, what do you think?

When she was in politics I always gave her the benefit of the doubt. My teacher friends hated ... HATED her when she was Minister of Education. But I always tried to defend her.

I'm doing much less of that now that she's on the air, five days a week. Everyone is indeed entitled to their opinion and I applaud her for expressing hers but any political segment is almost always stacked with guests who are of the ultra-left variety.

Today was no exception. She had a segment on whether Al Gore should jump into the U.S. presidential election. Her guests were husband and wife professors, Kathleen & Gerald Hill, two comrades in arms of Clark's. The nonsense revisionist history they were espousing was laughable if it weren't for the fact that most less informed people would accept what was said as fact. It wasn't. Yet our Liberal/liberal host didn't bother to challenge even one of these false assertions.

Today's show was exemplary of the liberal group think that Christy Clark and her husband, Mark Marrison (Stephane Dion's BC lieutenant), must engage in on a regular basis. The premise is clear: "We know better and anyone who disagrees with us is ignorant."

Bring back David Berner! Politically he is left leaning too but he engages in an actual conversation with callers, rather than Clark, who simply cuts off anyone who disagrees with her. This very thing happened today ... right in the middle of one man espousing a series facts to correct the deeply biased professors.
