Vancouver's Queen Elizabeth Park

When I was a kid my dad used to take me & my brother up here all the time. QE Park, also known as "Little Mountain", is a favourite of tourists and locals alike! It's an extinct volcano whose center has been replaced with a botanical garden (which many wedding photographers use as a stunning backdrop) and an enormous water tank that feeds the entire city. From a boy's perspective, it's a huge playground perfect for hide & seek, "guns", etc. Great memories!

I hadn't been up here in a few years and decided to visit today ... camera in hand, of course!

Interesting Public Space at VGH

The eastern portion of the block bounded by 12th & 13th Avenues and Willow & Laurel Streets has some sort of industrial facility buried under the ground. On top they've created a nice little park with the most interesting sculpture / water fountain. I need to get back here on a sunny day but here's a preview.
