Pacific Northwest Trip: Day 1

I spoke at length with the manager of this Krispy Kreme about 50 miles south of the Canadian border. I assumed that because of the strong Canadian dollar, they'd be getting a lot more business from Canada. But I was incorrect. He believes that the dramatic increase in gas prices is the culprit.

My mom & I got a great rate from Hotwire to stay at the Hotel Deca in the University District. It's a great boutique hotel with lots of Art Deco styling. A complete renovation was done just a few years ago.

We went on a walking tour of the beautiful University of Washington (aka PR: "U-Dub") campus.

Danny's Tour of the University of Washington

After learning what a fantastic university Seattle had, especially in the areas of Computer Science and Engineering, I wanted Danny to be able to see it firsthand. So I arranged a meeting with a professor there and then gave him a walking tour. It's a fantastic campus and I sure hope he gives it strong consideration.
