Last night I was predicting to a friend that this upcoming federal election campaign would mostly (entirely?) focus around the issue of a coalition of the Liberals, NDP, et Le Bloc. Reporters will endlessly dog Iggy until he definitively says Oui or Non to a coalition.
Somewhat ironically, if he says "Absolutely no coalition" then I think more middle of the road voters [who don't like the Conservatives] would feel comfortable voting for the Liberals. But if he leaves open the possibility of a coalition then it will almost certainly give these same voters an "Uh oh" moment and nudge them over to voting Conservative.
One thing is certain: If a Coalition comes to power then they will spend soooooooooo much money that even our great-great-great-great-great grandchildren will still be paying it back!
