The Same Old, Same Old of Canadian Election Campaigns
This afternoon an old buddy of mine came over for a visit with his young sons. We got to talking about the election.
He lamented that nothing of any real importance is ever discussed during such campaigns.
On this note I rhetorically asked him whether he had any doubt that the next 10+ days of the election campaign will be consumed with the media mostly talking about whether Lizzie May will be allowed into the debate. Big Whoop!
Do you think such focus on triviality occurs because our journalists are second rate and unable to ask politicians real questions or is it because their market research shows that average Canadians aren't bright enough to care and instead wants the election campaign to be treated like a reality game show?
