Rocket Contrast

Today I was watching a National Geographic documentary entitled "Martian Robots". It was about the two exploratory robots on Mars. Here's a sampling.

Later in the day, following the news from the Gaza Strip, the following occurred to me:

Americans have fired rockets into outer space, which traveled hundreds of millions of miles to Mars, deployed robots onto the planet's surface and are now exploring vast stretches of the Martian landscape.

On the other hand, Palestinians have elected a Hamas government which thrives on firing rockets a few dozen miles away, solely to kills Jews.

Throughout many of the large cities in the West we have tens of thousands of screaming people telling us that America is bad & evil and Hamas is good & righteous.

Can someone please wake me when seriousness returns to society?!

It's now over 4 hours since Phoenix landed on Mars and it has already started sending photographs back to Earth! Here are a few:

This expedition is being run out of the University of Arizona. They've setup an excellent website here.

At approximately 4:53pm PDT on Sunday, May 25th, 2008 the NASA explorer "Phoenix" landed on Mars. Let's hope that all goes well! I think this is AMAZING!!!
