How Does the Radical Left View Hockey?
Listening to this highly biased BBC documentary about NHL Hockey got me thinking about how class warfare propagandists, race-baiters, radical feminists, and environmental extremists would, in their heart of hearts, view the sport of hockey. I think this pretty accurately sums it up:

Experiments with HDR
I've recently started experimenting a lot more with High Dynamic Range imaging (aka HDR). My software of choice is the most excellent HDR Efex Pro from Nik Software. Ideally such images are supposed to be produced from 3 or 5 or even 7 original photos, all taken with the camera on a tripod and each individual photo taken at a different exposure. But with a photo loaded into Adobe Lightroom, virtual copies can be created and artificial exposures assigned to each. With this approach, I typically have one at normal exposure, a second at -2.0 f-stops below and the third at +2.0 f-stops above. HDR Efex Pro then combines the images together and let's you tinker with the final image in an endless series of ways.
The first two photos were taken last October at my mom's family's homestead in rural Saskatchewan. The last two were taken in downtown Los Angeles in February.

Pop Quiz
Anyone watching the most recent episode of Celebrity Apprentice learned that Patricia Velasquez was the world's first latin supermodel. The question is, who was the second? :-)

Ronald Reagan's Famous 1964 Speech
His words then are even more important today, 48 years later:
Here are some photos I recently shot at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California.

Strange Things You Sometimes See in Santa Monica
Walking away from the Santa Monica Pier, I came across this fellow on the ladder. What else to do than pull out my camera and video him!

U & I Thai Restaurant
Last night I went to have dinner at one of my favourite Thai restaurants in Vancouver. Turns out it had closed but a new one had opened in its place. U & I Thai was equally as good in terms of the food and even more elegantly decorated than its predecessor. Yet the prices were reasonable. It opened only a few weeks ago and is run by Ui Ratsomjit and her husband, Robert. It's a very cool place that I plan to visit a lot more in the near future!

Remembering Andrew Breitbart
Andrew Breitbart was one of my heroes. So much so that I've created this tribute video:
