Also known locally as The Ballard Locks, this waterway offers an interesting glimpse at engineering technology to allow boats to travel to/from the Pacific Ocean and Lake Union. The fresh water lake is located 20 - 22 feet above sea level.

We were all quite tired from the activity earlier in the day, so we decided to just stroll over to the nearby Old Spaghetti Factory. It's located along the Willamette River, just a bit south of the OHSU Gondola.

On the weekends the cruise ships are docked, restocking themselves for a new allotment of passengers for the coming week. They always brighten up the harbour tremendously!
