Is America Now Beyond the Point of No Return?
I now mostly avoid politics on this blog and instead direct such energies to SDA. However, the latter part of 2012 will be regarded as a momentous, historical time, especially for the United States of America. So once in a while I'll make an exception, especially when something is heavy on my mind.
Reginald Kaigler is a libertarian vlogger from Flint, Michigan. The first three minutes of this post-election video of his are exceptionally interesting:
Simply put, is he wrong?
I carefully listened to Dennis Miller this past week, in the days following America's Presidential election last Tuesday. Some people, callers & guests alike, seemed not willing to accept his sincere realization that the majority of Americans have no REAL interest in preventing America from reaching complete financial collapse; not the current debate about the short-term problem in January but what is mathematically certain to happen - probably before 2016.
As one caller alluded to, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Mark Levin have already gotten back up in the proverbial saddle to "resume the fight". To what end though? Bailing water from a rowboat is one thing but trying to push back the rising water of a tsunami wave is . . . well, pointless. While I do believe these three gentlemen are sincere in their fiscal conservative beliefs, one has to realize that it's also in their own professional self-interest to continue the fight.
In the last two days of the week, I listened closely to how guests Debra Saunders, Liz Claman, and Major Garrett - intelligent people all - responded to Dennis's new found realization. Not one of them was willing to concede that he was almost certainly correct. Furthermore, Garrett even asserted that Obama will have to "wear" the massive economic collapse when it occurs. Not in a million years will that happen given the makeup of the mainstream media, who serve as his loyal palace guard.
For Dennis Miller, for Reginald Kaigler, and for yours truly, this has now moved beyond a Left vs. Right issue. It's just mathematics and time. The USS America is headed towards the largest iceberg the world has ever known. About 1/4 of the passengers are screaming at the captain to turn the ship to avoid the collision. Slightly more than that are telling the captain to ignore these people because they're crazy and that global warming will probably melt the iceberg anyhow. Almost 1/2 of the passengers are either disgusted with all the shouting back & forth or can't be bothered to leave the satellite TV service in their cabins to see what all the fuss is about.
