Age Is A Matter of Perspective
Two pretty twenty-something women were talking and one said to the other, "Umm, he was like really old, I think thirty-five."
Hey, 16 & 17 year old boys probably think of you & your friends as "old"! It's all relative!!!
The only time I find it weird is when I'm in a bar or a restaurant like Cactus Club and see 18 & 19 year olds. Quickly reminds me how I thought I knew everything back then but actually new very little at all.
If you were 30, you should be depressed. Your profile says you're 42, therefore it's not a bad thing. Be upset only if young people peg you about ten years older than you are-- theirs was an insult in general to middle agers, but if you really think about it, it was a compliment to you.
Of course if the conversation before went something like: He throws his food from the table and has big tantrums when his meat isn't cooked just right! then 35 is awfully old.
You need to go to where the 65 year olds are, then you'll be that handsome young whipper snapper! ;)
ReplyDeleteI meant that as a good thing, but somehow I'm not sure that's comforting...
